We’re partnering with a leading manufacturer in the technical textiles industry that’s looking for a Business Development Manager to help identify and develop new areas of business. This role will work closely with R&D to explore new applications and markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with both technical knowledge and strong commercial instincts who enjoys connecting with people, growing relationships, and turning ideas into innovative new products.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with R&D to identify and develop new business opportunities in performance materials.
- Build relationships with customers, engineers, and product developers to understand needs and translate them into actionable projects.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings.
- Drive measurable growth in new business and market segments.
- Provide clear communication between customers, R&D, and leadership teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record of growing new business and explaining how those results were achieved.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills — someone customers trust and enjoy working with.
- Strong technical understanding of manmade fibers, polymers, and nylon (enough to confidently discuss product development with engineers).
- Bachelor’s degree; Textile Science, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Combination of technical and commercial experience ideal — especially candidates who started in a technical role and moved into sales.
- Up to 50% travel (domestic with some international).
